In these expensive times for eggs, one can now make quite good waffles even without eggs in them. Take ½ l fresh strained milk, 2 dcl sour cream, ¼ teaspoon cardamom, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon egg powder, 3 spoons of sugar, and flour until the batter is properly thick, so it releases from the iron.
Rub the iron thoroughly clean before it is set over the heat, and after it has become hot, rub it thoroughly over again, otherwise the waffles may come to taste rancid, from possible remnants of butter from the last time the iron was used.
