How to make it

  1. 1

The redcurrants, picked in fine weather, are filled into a crock, placed in a pot filled with water high enough to reach ¾ up the crock, and boiled well.

  2. 2

Strain the juice through a flannel bag.

  3. 3

The clear juice is filled into clean, dry bottles which are placed in a pot with cloth in the bottom and cold water; boil until bubbles begin to appear in the necks of the bottles.

  4. 4

Take out, cork at once, seal with resin. Will keep for several years.
