The yeast is stirred with the lukewarm milk, the not too cold flour is added; set to rise for ½ hour; then sugar, salt, the grated lemon peel, the eggs and the soft butter are added, along with — if necessary — a little more lukewarm milk.
Worked into a dough, beaten with a rolling pin until the dough forms blisters. The dough is left to rise again for ¼ hour, beaten with the rolling pin, and rolled out quite thin.
The edge of the rolled-out dough is folded up a little — about 2 cm —, after which the dough rises again for about ¼ hour, is brushed with melted butter, and covered thickly with plums that have been stoned and divided into 2 or 4, and somewhat warmed and dressed with sugar and cinnamon to taste.
Small pieces of butter are now placed on the cake, after which it bakes in a moderately hot oven for about ½ hour.
