3 eggs, ¼ litre sour cream and ½ litre sugar, 4 lemon drops, 2 almond drops and 1 heaped teaspoon orange peel are beaten well together, then stir in ¾ litre wheat flour, 2 heaped teaspoons baker's ammonia, and 5 tablespoons melted butter.
The batter is spread evenly over a well-greased baking sheet and baked light brown.
Before putting the sheet into the oven, you can sprinkle the cake either with coarse sugar or with sugar and almonds, or with sugar mixed with a little crushed rusks.
When the cake is taken out of the oven, cut it into suitably large points. Should the cakes prove not fully baked, put the sheet back in again after the cakes have been cut apart.
These cakes are well suited to baking in a stove, as they do not need much heat.
