⅓ litre syrup, ⅓ litre sugar, ¼ litre butter or good cooking fat are melted together in a deep dish.
To this add ¼ litre sour cream, 1 heaped teaspoon ginger, 1 full teaspoon cinnamon, 1 heaped teaspoon orange peel, 3 almond and 6 lemon drops, 3 beaten eggs, a good 1½ litres wheat flour and 2 heaped teaspoons baker's ammonia.
Everything is stirred well together and placed in small dollops on the baking sheet before the batter sets.
The dollops should not be placed too close together, as the cakes always spread a little.
Each time you place a cake on the sheet with the teaspoon, you should dip it in a bowl of cold water, so the batter releases more easily from the spoon.
These cakes too are very easy to make and cannot tolerate strong heat. They have considerable resemblance to snap cakes.
