The cleaned, cut-up fish is put on the fire in the boiling, salted water and boils until the fish comes away from the bones.
The cooked fish is cleaned of skin and bones and laid in a deep dish.
Melt the margarine, stir in the flour, thin with the fish stock — about ½ litre — and boil for 10 minutes.
The cleaned, cooked root vegetables are cut up neatly and laid over the fish; the sauce is poured over.
Garfish can also be boiled in the ordinary way and eaten with white sauce.
