Original 1941 recipe

Dried green peas soaked at least a day, simmered until tender and smooth with stock, cooked together with diced carrots and finished with finely chopped parsley and salt. From Henriette Schønberg Erken's «God, billig dagskost» (1941).

Cook the pea soup
Wash the peas and soak them in cold water for at least a day. Put them on the heat in the soaking water. Simmer them slowly, covered, until tender; add the stock little by little and cook until smooth. Clean the carrots, cut them into small cubes and cook them in the soup. When the soup is done, add finely chopped parsley and salt to taste.
