Stir the yeast out the old-fashioned way, that is, stir the yeast out with the sugar, add a couple of dl of lukewarm milk and let this stand 6—8 hours.
Into the rest of the milk, which should be lukewarm, stir the flour, setting aside a little for shaping the loaves.
Work the dough with the yeast well; let it stand about 8 hours. The dough should be relatively firm when it is set aside to rise, but reckon that some flour is to be added when shaping the loaves.
Work the dough into two loaves, which look nicest if baked in tins; grease these well.
Let rise to double, and bake the loaves in a relatively hot oven, not with too strong top heat.
Baking time about 1 hour.
