Wash the groats and soak them overnight in the water; put them on to cook in the soaking water and boil to a firm porridge.
Add the finely chopped meat and the rest. Form into round patties on a floured board and brown in fat or butter. Make a brown sauce and pour it over.
Meat patties can also be made with rice porridge. For 750 g trimmed cut meat, use 300 g rice porridge. Grind the meat alone twice, then once with the porridge.
Form into patties, flour them well, brown in fat or butter and cook in a pot with 0.5 l boiling stock or water for 20 minutes.
The forcemeat can also be filled into cabbage leaves or a head of cabbage.
