Blanch the leaves
Remove the leaves from a trimmed head of cabbage as whole as possible. Cook them for 15 minutes in water with a little salt (½ tsp salt per litre of water). Lift the leaves out and cool them.
Fill and roll
Cut out the thickest part of the stalk on each leaf. Place about one tablespoon of minced meat on each leaf, roll up tightly and tie with string.
Finish cooking
Place the rolls in the water the leaves were cooked in, and cook them for half an hour. Remove the string and serve with melted butter.
