Original 1941 recipe

Grind the blood bread, stir in the milk, the melted fat or 100 g chopped kidney suet, the beaten egg, and everything else.
Stir together well, fill into a greased, crumbed mold, and cook in a water bath for 1 hour.
Serve with fried potatoes, grated raw swede. Lingonberries, whether as jam or stirred raw.
Blood dumplings are made by the same recipe with regard to the spices, but take 250 g blood bread and 200 g cake flour and if possible [the text continues on the next page].
