How to make it

  1. 1

    Put the berries in jars

Put the choice cloudberries in jars and pour over the boiled, cold syrup.

  2. 2

    Make the syrup

Boil the water and sugar, skim well and add the salicylic acid.

  3. 3

    Seal the jars

Fill the jar completely full, screw on the lid and stand it upside down for a day. Other berries such as strawberries and raspberries can be treated in the same way.

  4. 4

    Note

Note: Salicylic acid and benzoic acid are no longer common advice for home preserving, and a paraffin seal is not recommended. Today, use clean, heat-treated jars and enough sugar or boiling instead, and store cold.
