Original 1914 recipe
Verbatim from the first edition of the Big Cookbook.

Pork loin with cabbage: cured, smoked pork loin boiled half-tender, cabbage blanched and browned in butter, everything layered with flour and cooked 1–1.5 hours.

A relative of fårikål (mutton and cabbage), made with cured and smoked pork loin. The dish belongs to the pork chapter of "Stor kokebok" (1914).
Blanch the cabbage
Blanch the cabbage, lay it on a cloth so it drains well, and cut it into strips.
Brown the cabbage
Brown the cabbage strips in the butter.
Pre-boil the meat
Wash the meat and boil it half-tender in the water. Take it up and cut it into pieces.
Assemble and cook
Layer the meat and cabbage in the pot, sprinkle flour between the layers, and continue cooking for 1–1 1/2 hours until the meat is done.
Modernized spelling; the "5,4 s ,4 1." in the OCR is interpreted as 3/4 liter of boiling water. Grams and liters kept as in the original.
