Source: Henriette Schønberg Erken, Stor kokebok, 1914-utg. s. 569 (falt i det fri)
Sand tarts were one of the most widespread small cakes in Norwegian homes around 1914, and Erken gives several variants one after another. They were baked in small, fluted tin molds that were standard equipment in the kitchen drawer.
Stir butter and sugar
Stir the butter and sugar white and fluffy.
Mix in the rest
Add the sifted flour, the blanched and finely ground almonds and the egg. Mix into a smooth dough.
Press into the molds
Press the dough thinly into small, fluted tin molds (sand tart molds).
Bake
Bake the tarts to a light golden brown in a hot oven, about 200 °C (390 °F) for 10–12 minutes. Let cool before tipping them out of the molds.
Quantities are converted to grams and deciliters where natural, "ground almonds" is specified as finely ground blanched almonds, and the baking temperature is given in degrees (hot oven ≈ 200 °C (390 °F)).
