Source: Henriette Schønberg Erken, Stor kokebok, 1914-utg. s. 508 (falt i det fri)
A simple frozen cream meant as an accompaniment to fresh strawberries – the forerunner of today's vanilla ice cream served with berries.
Mix
Mix the cream, sugar and vanilla until the sugar is dissolved.
Freeze
Freeze the mixture in an ice cream maker, or in the freezer whisking every half hour. Serve with fresh strawberries.
Vanilla powder can be replaced with vanilla sugar or the seeds of a vanilla pod; the freezing is described for an ice cream maker/freezer.
