An old, cook-free method of preservation in which the vinegar penetrates the berries before they are layered with sugar. Suits as an accompaniment to meat and game.
Place the berries in vinegar
Pour vinegar over the cleaned blueberries and let them stand for 24 hours.
Strain off
Strain the vinegar from the berries.
Place in a crock
Layer the berries with sugar in a crock.
No quantities are given in the original; the ingredients are therefore listed without measurements. The method has been split into steps in modern Norwegian.
