Source: Henriette Schønberg Erken, Stor kokebok, 1914-utg. s. 351 (falt i det fri)
A classic vinaigrette among the salad dressings in the sauce chapter of Stor kokebok (1914). The ratio of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts oil is the same one used today.
Mix the seasonings
Mix the salt, paprika, and sugar in a small bowl.
Add vinegar
Stir in the vinegar until the salt and sugar are dissolved.
Stir in the oil
Stir in the oil little by little just before serving, so the dressing emulsifies.
Units modernized to teaspoon/tablespoon; "cooking oil" specified as neutral oil or olive oil. Unclear fractions in the OCR interpreted as ¼ and ½ teaspoon.
