A classic ice cream dessert named after the singer Nellie Melba; Erken gives a simple home version in a glass.
Layer in a glass
First put 1 large spoonful of vanilla ice cream in a glass. Lay a halved peach or other fruit over it.
Top with cream
Pipe or place a dollop of whipped cream over the fruit, and put 2-3 fresh or preserved berries in the cream.
Sprinkle with almonds
Sprinkle flaked almonds over the cream and serve.
The cream quantity is not given (the number is missing in the original). Fruit and berries are given per glass. The origin of the name is general knowledge, not from the text.
