Original 1914 recipe
Verbatim from the first edition of the Big Cookbook.

Suitor's cakes (frierkaker, literally "wooer's cakes") from Erken's Stor kokebok 1914: equal parts cooked chopped meat and raw ground meat mixed with egg, salt, pepper and ginger, shaped into round patties and fried in butter. A simple leftover dish.

A thrifty dish from the chapter on leftover food in Stor kokebok (1914), where cooked meat from dinner is mixed with fresh ground meat into new patties.
Mix the meat
Mix the chopped, cooked meat well together with the raw ground meat.
Season
Add the salt, pepper and ginger along with the well-beaten egg, and work the mixture together well.
Shape and fry
Shape round patties and fry them golden in butter in a pan, about 4-5 minutes on each side.
