Classic blueberry jam with equal parts berries and sugar. The berries are shaken in the pot instead of being stirred, so that they keep their shape.
Prepare the berries
Clean and rinse the berries, and let them drain on a cloth.
Melt the sugar
Put sugar and water over low heat until the sugar is melted.
Boil the berries
Add the berries, shake the pot well, and boil until the berries are clear.
Skim and fill
Pour the jam into a dish, skim it, shake it again, put it into jars, and tie them over at once.
Measurements modernized (1 deciliter of water). The method has been divided into numbered steps in modern Norwegian; "low fire" is rendered as low heat.
