About the dish

The celery stalks curl in ice-cold water, and this is used as a garnish around the salad.

How to make it

  1. 1

    Curl the celery

Cut the coarsest stalks into pieces about 8 cm long and slit one end with a sharp knife. Put them in ice-cold water until they curl nicely.

  2. 2

    Mix

Cut the thinner stalks and the apples into small cubes. Mix with the coarsely chopped walnuts.

  3. 3

    Arrange

Place the mixture on a dish. Arrange lettuce leaves, tomato slices and the curled celery stalks around it.

  4. 4

    Dressing

Pour dressing over, preferably mayonnaise lightly sharpened with lemon juice.

  5. 5

    Note

Note: If the mayonnaise is made with raw egg yolks, use fresh eggs and serve the salad promptly.
