Original 1914 recipe
Verbatim from the first edition of the Big Cookbook.

A brief cross-reference recipe in Erken (1914): purée of fava beans ("vælske beans," French fèves) is made the same way as pea purée, that is, the beans are boiled tender, pressed through a sieve and seasoned with butter and salt.

Erken here refers briefly to her pea-purée recipe: the beans are boiled tender, pressed through a sieve and thinned with stock and butter.
Boil the beans
Boil the fava beans tender in salted water, the same way as for pea purée.
Make the purée
Press the beans through a sieve or strainer, stir in butter and salt, and heat the purée through well before serving.
The original gives only a cross-reference to pea purée. The ingredients and steps are therefore given as a guideline reconstruction of the method without adding new elements.
