Revised 1949 recipe
From the revised edition of the Big Cookbook.

This mayonnaise is made by heating cream, vinegar, butter, soured cream and mustard, whisking in egg yolks until thick and letting it cool. It is kept in closed jars and oil or sweet cream is added when used. From Erken's Stor kokebok (1949), p. 383.

A "have on hand" preparation: a mayonnaise base that can stand ready and be finished as needed.
Heat
Put the cream, vinegar, butter, soured cream and mustard in an enamelled pan over the heat. Stir until nearly boiling.
Whisk in yolks
Quickly stir in the whisked egg yolks. Keep whisking until well thickened.
Cool
Pour out and stir until cold.
Store
Fill well-sealed jars and keep cold. When the mayonnaise is to be used, stir in a couple of spoons of oil, or sweet cream for those who dislike oil.
Note
Erken says it keeps for weeks. Current advice is to keep it refrigerated and use it within a few days.
"Del." is converted to dl, and "a couple of spoons of oil" is read as 2 tbsp. The storage time "in weeks" is replaced with current advice in a note.
