The tapioca is sprinkled into boiling meat stock while stirring and cooked until the grains are cooked through and clear - reckon a few minutes. The whole soup is ready in around 30 minutes.
Why must the soup not boil after the egg yolks are added?
The egg yolks and cream are whisked out with a little hot soup and stirred in little by little. Then the soup is stirred over the heat for 5 minutes, but it must not boil, because then the egg yolks curdle and the soup becomes grainy.

Where does the recipe come from?
From Henriette Schønberg Erken's Stor kokebok (1914), page 60, where it appears as a clear soup under the name potage au tapioca.
