About the dish

Erken warns that the tins must not be filled to the brim because the cake rises strongly.

How to make it

  1. 1

    Mix

Stir together the syrup, honey, sugar, spices and the grated zest of 2 lemons.

  2. 2

    Add milk and flour

Add the milk, then the flour with the baking powder mixed in, and finally the chopped candied peel.

  3. 3

    Bake

Pour the batter into well-greased tins, but do not fill them to the brim, as the cake rises a lot. Bake for about 1.5 hours.
