Revised 1949 recipe
From the revised edition of the Big Cookbook.

Macaroni, ham, mushrooms and hard-boiled eggs are layered in a dish with a thickened sauce, sprinkled with cheese and baked for ¾ hour, garnished with egg and root vegetables and served with tomato sauce. From Erken's Stor kokebok (1949), pp. 478–479.
Source: Henriette Schønberg Erken, Stor kokebok, 1949-utg. s. 478 (falt i det fri)
The recipe is built on a layered dish with sauce, a typical 1940s basis for a main course. The draft from p. 478 also contains an omelette-batter dish with meat stew.
Make the sauce
Melt the butter, stir in the flour and thin with the milk. Bring to the boil and add the egg yolks, salt and paprika.
Layer
Layer boiled, neatly cut macaroni, ham, mushrooms and sliced hard-boiled eggs in a greased dish. Put a little sauce between each layer.
Bake
Drizzle melted butter over everything and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in a hot oven (about 200 °C (390 °F)) for ¾ hour.
Garnish and serve
Garnish with boiled egg slices, mushrooms and cut-out roots. Serve with tomato sauce.
Times and oven are interpreted (¾ hour; hot oven read as about 200 °C (390 °F)). The text is joined from two pages; an unclear sentence about chopping macaroni and ham is left out of the steps, and the pancake part from p. 478 (omelette batter with meat stew) is not reproduced as ingredients.
